— Where they fall short
The gaps L5 fills.
- —
Visibly under-invested since Auctane acquired Stamps.com — stale blog content, dated UI, fewer engineers
- —
No real human-account model — converts via free tier and abandons you to a help center
- —
Volume cliffs in the pricing — once you outgrow Growth tier, ShipStation is the upsell path

The L5 difference
How L5 is structurally different.
ShippingEasy and L5 compete for the same shipper at the same inflection point (200–2,000 parcels/month) but they're structurally different products. ShippingEasy is software; L5 is a carrier-services hybrid with software underneath. They put 'lowest USPS rates' in the hero — but they don't run the USPS work-share relationship the way L5 does directly. We pass through the same commercial-plus rates with a named account rep on top.
When each one wins
Pick the right answer.
You want a free-tier shipping software and you don't need a human in the loop.
— Pick L5 if
You've outgrown free, or your operations team is tired of being abandoned to a help desk.
Verdict
The honest answer.
If ShippingEasy is working for you, don't switch. If your account rep is a chatbot and your monthly volume is north of 1,000 parcels, L5 is what you graduate to. We out-human them; we don't out-software them.
