Methodology
How L5's lane data is generated.
Every lane page uses the same calculation USPS itself uses: distance between Sectional Center Facilities (SCFs) based on the first three digits of each ZIP code, mapped to USPS Zones 1 through 9. We compute distance using haversine geometry over our 896-prefix ZIP-3 centroid dataset.
For every city pair we generate: distance in miles, USPS zone, typical ground transit, recommended service tier, and approximate rates by weight class. Run the Price a shipment → for a holistic estimate, or use the zone map to visualize zones from any origin ZIP.
